Investor–state disputes

Frontier’s experts testify in investor–state disputes across the world. We have provided testimony in more than 20 disputes in recent years, across sectors including energy and telecoms.

We assist both claimants and respondents (including sovereign states) in a wide variety of arbitration fora, including ICSID, the ICC, UNCITRAL, the PCA, VIAC and SCC.

Tax disputes

Frontier supports taxpayers and authorities through negotiations and in litigation, around the world. We offer advisory support through negotiation processes, as well as expert witness testimony and expert report writing.

In transfer pricing, we help clients apply the OECD Guidelines in disputes. Our experts have testified in all three of the UK transfer pricing disputes that have reached trial to date.

Commercial disputes

We support our clients in commercial cases, with a particular focus on cases across the energy sector, including electricity, hydrocarbons and heat markets. Our expertise ranges the whole value chain, including wholesale contracts, transportation and storage. 

We analyse the economic case for contract cancellations, non-deliveries, price reviews and estimate damages in those situations.

Judicial reviews and administrative litigation

Frontier provides an end-to-end expert witness service for clients appealing regulatory decisions, including strategic advice, technical support and expert testimony. 

We’ve advised clients before the European Commission and national courts, and have provided expert witness services for both regulated private entities and public bodies. We have a strong track record of advising when appeals are likely to be successful and – just as importantly – when appeals are less likely to succeed.
