A new paper, published today by Frontier (Europe), evaluates the consequences of the UK Brexit referendum result on the cost of capital in regulated utilities in the UK.
As well as a detailed analysis of how factors affecting the cost of capital might be affected by Brexit, the paper carries an important warning to regulators and investors not to react too quickly to market signals, which may prove misleading in the volatile environment created by current uncertainty about the ultimate route to Brexit.
A summary version of the paper has also been published as a bulletin, forming part of Frontier’s wider series of bulletins on the economic impact of Brexit.
Frontier (Europe) regularly advices public and private sector organisations on regulatory issues in the EU and beyond.
