Frontier presents on Brexit and business at General Counsel 2016

Amar Breckenridge, Senior Associate at Frontier Economics, today spoke at the General Counsel 2016 event organised by The Economist and hosted by the Law Society. He was part of a panel that examined the impacts of Brexit on businesses and policy.

Amar summarised the empirical evidence suggesting that EU membership had been beneficial to the United Kingdom, and therefore it was in the UK’s interest to secure as close a level of integration with the EU as possible. Although the UK regaining control of its own trade policies post-Brexit presents opportunities for further growth through liberalisation, there may be political constraints to this. Amar also  highlighted the ways in which economics could be used to identify how the main drivers of a firm’s value are linked to policy risks and opportunities created by Brexit, and how this in turn could shape commercial strategy and positions taken on matters of policy.

Frontier regularly advises clients on international trade, and issues relating to Brexit.
