Dr Stefan Lochner of Frontier Economics today presented at the German network regulator BNetzA’s workshop in Bonn. The workshop focused on BNetzA’s “market dialogue” about further development of the German gas market zones. The objective of the workshop was to discuss the competition and liquidity situation of the German gas market zones, as well as further regulatory actions to develop the market zones. Stefan presented on costs and benefits of the increasing integration of the European gas market zones.

Frontier advises on all aspects of gas market regulation, particularly in relation to gas network. For its analysis of gas market integration, Frontier uses its gas flow model of the European gas market, which allows for estimation of economic costs and benefits, as well as distributional effects.
