José María Rodríguez speaks at the 1st Conference of Digital Connectivity in Mexico

Frontier’s Associate Director, José María Rodríguez will present the forthcoming Frontier Economics study on the impact of digital infrastructure on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Latin American and Caribe countries. The adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development by 193 Heads of Governments at the United Nations General Assembly in September 2015, represented a renewed effort by world leaders to achieve a global path for development that is inclusive and sustainable.

As its bedrock, the plan encompasses a comprehensive set of 17 SDGs which integrate the economic, social and environmental dimensions of sustainable development, including, end of poverty, quality education, gender equality and sustainable economic growth amongst others. The study aims at quantifying the impact that digital infrastructure have on the main SDGs for 12 countries in the Latina America and Caribe regions.

The conference is organized by the Interamerican Development Bank and will be held on October 8th in Mexico City
