Wynne Jones, Frontier Director, passes away

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the recent passing of our colleague and dear friend, Wynne Jones.

Wynne dedicated over 20 years to Frontier Economics, where his intellect, professionalism, and warmth shaped our Energy practice and left a lasting legacy.

With a career spanning nearly 50 years, Wynne brought extraordinary insight and dedication to his work. Before joining Frontier, he led PwC’s Energy and Utilities Practice in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa and served as a senior economist at the World Bank. His wide-ranging expertise and ability to tackle the most complex challenges earned him the respect of colleagues and clients across the globe.

Wynne’s contributions were not limited to his technical expertise, though it was unmatched. His kindness, generosity, and sense of humour defined his relationships, and his ability to inspire and guide those around him made him truly exceptional. Whether serving as an expert witness on complex disputes or mentoring the next generation of economists, Wynne’s impact will be felt for years to come.

Dan Roberts, who worked closely with Wynne at Frontier and at PwC before that, observed that:

“Wynne’s ability to solve the most complex problems with clarity and precision was remarkable, but it was his kindness, humour, and genuine care for those around him that made him truly extraordinary. He was a mentor, a friend, and a constant source of inspiration.”

Our thoughts are with Wynne’s family and friends at this difficult time. He will be remembered fondly by all of us at Frontier and by the many who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.
