Gus O’Donnell, Chairman of Frontier, is to become Chair of the Board of Trustees of the charity, Pro Bono Economics (PBE). PBE matches highly skilled economist volunteers with charities and social enterprises, providing the expertise that helps them answer questions about measurement, results, impact and value of their work. Gus helped launch PBE while at the Treasury in 2009 and has continued to support the organisation as a patron.
Gus will be taking up the post in mid-2016. Andy Haldane, Chief Economist of the Bank of England and interim Chair of PBE, said: “It is fabulous to have someone of Gus’s stature, experience and passion, about both economics and volunteering, become Chair of Pro Bono Economics. The charity is entering a second, exciting, phase of its evolution and I can think of no-one better than Gus to help make this a success.”
Frontier provides consultancy services to charities on a pro bono basis, recently working with charities such as the Children’s Society, who help fight child poverty and neglect, and Whizz-Kidz, who provide disabled children with the essential wheelchairs and other mobility equipment.
