An amazing start to 2022 with promotions across the business

We’re excited to announce our most recent round of promotions within our management team. Below you can find out more about each individual.

Our New Directors

Annabelle Ong

Annabelle has more than 15 years’ experience in the water and transport sectors in the UK, Australia and beyond.  She advises companies, regulators and governments on regulatory, competition and policy issues with a focus on outcome-based regulation.  Her recent interests centre around how regulatory methodologies can be adapted to effectively give customers a voice,  address the climate and biodiversity crises and to encourage long-term planning in a world of significant short-term challenges.

Christoph Gatzen

Christoph works in our Energy practice and is based in our Cologne office. He has more than 15 years of experience in the European energy industry including the electricity, gas, hydrogen and fuel sectors. He advises his clients on generation, transmission, storage or distribution assets evaluation, due diligence support, competition cases, regulation, contract evaluation, litigation cases as well as policy advice around market design and climate policy.

Our New Associate Directors

Stefan Lochner

Stefan joined Frontier in 2011 and works mainly in our Competition and Energy practices. He has extensive consulting experience in several European countries advising clients on various aspects of competition and industrial economics. He frequently leads dispute support assignments (e.g., cartel or abuse of dominance related, or concerning damage quantification), also as expert witness in litigation or arbitration proceedings. Stefan further advises on a variety of issues in the energy sector, including regulation work and pricing reviews.

Yulia Kossykh

Yulia works in Frontier’s Telecoms practice leading projects on a range of competition, regulatory and policy issues in the telecommunications sector. Her clients include telecoms operators, regulators and governments in Europe, the Middle East, South Africa and South East Asia. Yulia has broad expertise in telecoms including competition and regulation.  She has particular expertise in spectrum auctions and spectrum management, and has advised a number of operators on auction bid strategy and has designed spectrum auctions for regulators.

Sam Street

Sam works in Frontier’s Energy practice leading projects for public and private sector clients in the UK and European energy sector. He specialises in electricity and gas market design, in particular related to the low carbon transition, capacity markets, and network charging. He also provides clients with electricity market due diligence and dispute support.

Matthias Janssen

Matthias works in our Cologne office and has over 10 years’ experience. He advises leading European companies and public authorities in the energy sector and other sectors. He helps companies and organisations to analyse the economics of their markets and act to gain competitive advantage or respond to regulatory pressure. He regularly advises on energy market design issues, competition assessment, wholesale and retail pricing, and on the assessment of climate policy instruments.

Malcolm Tan

Malcolm works in Frontier’s competition practice and is based in London and Brussels. He advises on several areas of competition policy, including mergers, market investigations, assessments of dominance and competition disputes. Malcolm has extensive experience on cases before the European Commission and national competition authorities in a number of countries, in particular the UK and Germany. He has advised clients across a wide range of sectors including telecoms, online markets, retail and financial services. Malcolm is listed in Who’s Who Legal Competition Future Leaders.
