José María Rodríguez Ovejero is Director of Frontier Economics’ Madrid office. He joined Frontier in 2007, after working as an Associate Director at an international economic consultancy.
He specialises in litigation, competition and regulation, with extensive experience acting as an expert witness in arbitrations and court proceedings. In Global Arbitration Review, clients have commented: “José María prepared thoroughly before testifying. His explanations and responses were always clear and reflected a profound understanding of the underlying issues. He was never caught off guard during cross examination”.
In competition matters, he advises on mergers and cases involving predatory and excessive pricing, rebates/discounts, margin squeeze, bundling/tying and State aids. In regulation, he has advised companies and regulators on price regulation, the cost of capital, cost accounting, universal service costing, regulatory design and functional separation.
José María holds a degree in Economics and a Master’s in Industrial Economics. He teaches on the Economics of Telecommunications course at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
