With over 15 years of experience in the energy and automotive sectors, Michael specialises in market design, auctions, risk management, state aid, mergers and acquisitions, and competition issues.
Having worked with industry stakeholders, policy makers, and regulators across multiple countries, Michael brings a unique perspective that bridges both sides of the market.
Michael is an expert in market design and has led several projects on renewable energy auctions and policies for sustainable transport technologies (for example, a crediting system for renewable fuels). He has also provided competition assessments in merger proceedings and arbitration cases in the energy sector.
He joined Frontier in 2008 from the Bonn Graduate School of Economics where he was enrolled as a Ph.D. student and his main area of research was auction theory.
