Since joining Frontier in 2007, James has advised dozens clients facing competition investigations into mergers, alleged abuses of dominance, horizontal agreements and vertical restraints, as well as follow-on damages litigation.
He applies his skills across a variety of sectors, often working with colleagues from other Frontier practice areas on matters that require multidisciplinary expertise.
James has significant experience in the application of competition law to the wholesale financial sector. In recent years he has managed Frontier teams advising number of leading global financial service providers, including the London Stock Exchange Group, Lloyd’s of London, Willis Towers Watson, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and JPMorgan Chase.
James also works closely with Frontier’s energy practice, for example managing the Frontier team that advised SSE during the UK Competition and Markets Authority’s 2016 investigation into the industry. Other energy sector clients include Centrica, ABB, ESB and Ofgem.
