Sharon White has been Chair of Frontier Economics since January 2025.
Until September 2024, Sharon held the role of Chair of the John Lewis Partnership, the first woman appointed to that position. Before this Sharon served as Chief Executive for Ofcom. She was awarded a Damehood in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours 2020 for public service, including her work at Ofcom, and she was named as the UK’s most influential black person in the 2023 Powerlist.
Sharon began her career in the Civil Service, working as the Second Permanent Secretary at the Treasury, Director General at the Ministry of Justice and the Department for International Development, as well as an advisory role at the Prime Minister’s Policy Unit. She also spent time in the US as a senior economist at the World Bank in Washington. Sharon studied at Cambridge University and University College London.
Sharon brings a wealth of experience to the role with an interest in shaping Frontier’s approach to some of the biggest issues facing business and government, particularly AI adoption, the green transition, competition and regulation.
