Burak is a professional economist with a decade of experience.
He specialises in the application of economic theory and statistical analysis to commercial disputes, with a particular focus on competition and regulatory matters.
Having worked in more than twenty-five cases across numerous industries in a wide range of matters, his recent work includes a litigation concerning the rules of an ATM scheme, a follow-on damages claim linked to conduct relating to online comparison-shopping services, a competition arbitration concerning the player regulations of a golf tour, follow-on damages claims related to the Trucks cartel, the Merricks class action, and the Merchant Interchange Fee Umbrella Proceedings. He has also recently prepared an expert report for a trade secrets dispute between two chemical companies.
Prior to joining Frontier, Burak worked as an economics consultant at AlixPartners. Before that, he taught microeconomics at the University of Edinburgh. Prior to that he worked in a research institute in Istanbul, focusing on macroeconomic and social policy issues.
Burak is fluent in English and French and is a native Turkish speaker. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Edinburgh and a post-graduate diploma in EU Competition Law from King's College.
