José María Rodríguez is an Associate Director in Madrid, where he leads Frontier’s communications practice in Spain and Latin America.
Prior to joining Frontier in 2007, he led the telecommunications team at NERA Economic Consulting.
He is an expert in policy, regulation, competition and litigation issues, including damage valuation in the communications sector and in other industries. His work includes price regulation, access charges, universal service obligations, functional separation, and the implications of regulating digital platforms. José María has also worked on competition policy issues including anticompetitive practices such as price squeezes, excessive prices, anticompetitive bundling and price discounts.
José María has appeared as an expert witness on numerous occasions and has submitted expert reports before regulators and courts in Europe and Latin America. At the Carlos III University, he teaches on the Economics of Telecommunications course and he lectures frequently before economic and industry forums and writes regularly for specialist publications.
