The InnoFuels platform, which brings together stakeholders from business, politics and research, was launched on March 14 to promote the ramp-up of electricity-based fuels and advanced biofuels.
The platform is funded as a joint research project by the German Federal Ministry for Digital Affairs and Transport (BMDV) over 3.5 years. The objectives of the platform are:
- to accelerate the production and introduction of renewable fuels through networking;
- to exchange and communication with all stakeholders;
- to identify research needs and synergies;
- to understand needs and potential; and
- to disseminate work results.
The objectives of the InnoFuels platform are essentially carried out within defined research priorities. Frontier Economics is involved in the research focus area of "Market and Regulation", together with the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences, the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Transport and the Hessian Ministry of Economic Affairs. As part of this research focus, Frontier will contribute to identifying market and regulatory barriers that stand in the way of a rapid market ramp-up for renewable fuels and to developing solutions for overcoming them.
Frontier Economics regularly advises on alternative fuels and regulation.
