Gus O’Donnell elected as President of the IFS Council

Gus O’Donnell, Chairman of Frontier (Europe), has been elected as the new President of the Council of the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS). The IFS is the UK’s leading independent microeconomic research institute, which aims to bridge the gap between academic research and policy making to promote the development of evidence-based policy.

The President chairs the Council, which gives advice on strategic matters involving the IFS’s finances and research, and is also a member of the Executive Committee (the Board of Trustees for the Institute). Gus succeeds Rachel Lomax, former Deputy Governor of the Bank of England and member of the Monetary Policy Committee, who spent nine years as President.
