Vodafone Romania and Digi sign deals to acquire Telekom Romania Mobile

Vodafone Romania and Digi have signed deals with OTE to acquire separate parts of Telekom Romania Mobile Communications, following the Romanian Competition Council’s conditional approval in late July. The transaction marks a significant milestone in the Romanian telecommunications market.

Under the agreement, Vodafone Romania will acquire a substantial portion of Telekom Romania’s assets, including post-paid and business customers and part of the spectrum and technical network infrastructure. Digi Romania will take over the prepaid customer base and associated operations, along with other selected assets.

The Romanian Competition Council accepted the remedies proposed by the parties, which included a commitment to maintain investments in network development, providing MVNO access at competitive market prices, and maintaining Orange’s access to colocation services at mobile telecommunication sites.
