Hamish is an Associate Director in Frontier’s Dublin office. He advises across an array of competition and regulatory economics issues.
Hamish’s work spans numerous sectors from energy and water, to post, financial services and the digital economy.
Hamish has helped companies across numerous sectors to influence regulatory decisions and policy design. Examples of Hamish’s recent work includes advising on tariff design and implementation, incentives mechanisms, cost modelling, benchmarking and cost of capital. For our commercial clients, Hamish regularly advises on investment appraisal, cost-benefit analysis and strategic support.
Hamish also regularly advises clients on competition issues including mergers, damages cases, market design and market studies. Recent projects include electricity, gas, banking and insurance sectors.
Work in the digital economy includes a report on Brexit’s impact on the Irish digital sector, the impact of personalised pricing in the UK’s essential markets, and digital disruption in Ireland’s delivery service market.
Hamish previously worked for the New Zealand Commerce Commission as a Senior Economist with extensive regulatory and competition experience.
